UFO Seen Near Saturn’s Moon?

Some amazing photographs of Saturn’s Tethys and Titan have been returned to Earth this month. One thing these breathtaking images of Saturn’s moons show off is the massive scale of … wait, what in the name of Cassini Solstice is that?!

On January 2, the Cassini spacecraft snapped a photograph of Titan just when a strange looking object moved into view. The object has not been identified as of yet.

“This image has not been validated or calibrated,” reports NASA. “A validated/calibrated image will be archived with the NASA Planetary Data System in 2013.”

Speaking of recent photos from NASA’s Cassini orbiter, check out this wide-angle Saturnian snapshot. That’s the moon Tethys in the foreground, helping to illustrate the sheer immensity of Saturn’s size. And measuring over 660 miles across, Tethys is no shrimp.
